Interest in neopicolinamide fungicides began with the naturally occurring fungicide, UK-2A, which demonstrated a new mode-of-action against fungi. InatreqTM active, the first neopicolinamide fungicide launched by Corteva, is semi-synthetic and heavily inspired by UK-2A. Further development into the neopicolinamides led to two more products in the portfolio, AdaveltTM and HavizaTM active, both of which are fully synthetic molecules. This talk will discuss the discovery and development of the neopicolinamide actives, and highlight the efforts in making innovative new products that can be produced sustainably.
