The use of Liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) is one type of promising technologies for durable storage and long-distance transportation of hydrogen. Large-scale applications of hydrogen storage demand the use of active catalysts without the use of expensive platinum group metals. In this talk, I would like to introduce new catalytic mechanisms with metal-free carbocatalysts and single-site catalysts for activating dihydrogen and LOHCs.
