The determination of phenolic compounds in plant extracts have led to significant interest and rapid research, due to their biologically activities such as antioxidant, anti-viral, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. This research focused on the antioxidant properties of P.acidus and A. carambola aqueous extract. In this research, the concentration of phenolic compounds present in gooseberry (Phyllanthus acidus) and five finger (Averrhoa Carambola) plant extracts were assessed utilizing the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent. Also, the anti-radical activity was then evaluated utilizing DPPH (1, 1- diphenyl-2-picrylhadrazyl). At 50 degrees Celsius, gooseberry (Phyllanthus acidus) displayed the highest concentration of phenolic compounds. Thus, the concentration was calculated at 2.92 mg/l GAE, while the five finger at room temperature and pressure (RTP) displayed the lowest concentration of phenolic compounds at 1.24 mg/l GAE. The results were expressed as mg/l of Gallic acid equivalence. Varying concentrations of the fruit juice was prepared, at 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% and 20%. The DPPH assay shows that at the varying concentrations there is 100% antioxidant activity and 90% effect of scavenging in both gooseberry and five finger. Thus, both fruits can be used to make drinks with antioxidant activities.
