Silicon dioxide (SiO2) is widely used in various fields due to its excellent chemical properties. With the limitation of the purity of natural crystal raw materials and the depletion of reserves, synthetic SiO2 technology has been rapidly developed and extensively applied in recent decades. This talk will review the current methods that have been developed for the synthesis of SiO2 and describe the necessary characterization technologies that have now been used to study, and summarize the current potential applications of synthetic SiO2.
