3-membered halonium rings provide a plethora of synthetic potential. Displayed here is the bifunctional synthesis via a similar halonium intermediate of highly regioselective morpholine heterocycles and Claisen rearrangement products. The synthetic utility of this process can further be used to produce new and already existing pharmaceuticals, as well as new substrates with varying synthetic potential.
