A strategy for stereoselective cross-coupling of chiral Csp<sup>3</sup>-nucleophiles has been achieved through the merger of Pd- and Cu-catalyzed reactions.  The method relies on the Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling of stereodefined Csp<sup>3</sup>-Cu-complexes that are catalytically generated in situ from simple alkenes.  A variety of substrates undergo reaction with high levels of stereocontrol.  One of the notable attributes of this method is that stereo- and regiodivergent reactions can be achieved though tuning of the catalysts. These reactions provide access to synthetically versatile products from simple precursors.  The mechanism of these processes is addressed as well as application towards the synthesis of complex molecules will be shown.
