Water treatment uses a combination of biological and chemical methods to separate solids, organic, inorganic pollutants and pathogens from contaminated waters. Polysaccharides from plant sources are better alternative to existing synthetic materials used in water treatment plants. Properties which makes these patented materials and their use novel are, they are renewable; non-toxic; cost effective; can be used in existing water/wastewater treatment infrastructure; generates by-products that can be used for other applications (e.g. fenugreek husk a byproduct of seed mucilage can be used as animal feed); are versatile in nature, efficiently remove contaminants like suspended and dissolved solids, nutrients, oil, pathogens,  micro-plastic and other emerging contaminants from various sources of water. These can be used in both dry and emulsion forms. These are extracted from (seeds of fenugreek, husks from psyllium, fruits of okra, cladodes of cactus and aloe vera). The cost of using these materials as flocculants, compared to synthetic flocculants are equal or less. The target customers are businesses driven by regulations and/or by corporate social responsibility policy to utilize bio-based polymers for wastewater treatment. Global polyacrylamide (PAM) polymer market exceeds six hundred billion USD. PAM is toxic to the environment and large potential exists to replace PAM with plant-based biopolymers. The initial business plan involves pilot testing at wastewater treatment facilities. Treated samples of wastewater streams will be collected and analyzed by independent labs to document and verify the performance.Verified results and sample product will be provided to flocculant dealers and equipment vendors actively selling polymer and related mechanical separation equipment to municipal wastewater treatment, food processing and dairy industries. Additional bench and pilot tests would be conducted for interested customers to demonstrate the performance of the product at the customers facility. Production of the bio-flocculant products will be contracted as demand requires to commercial plant extraction facilities.
