The goal of this research is to synthesize new titanium complexes that show anti-cancer effects against breast cancer cells, specifically MCF7 cells. A variety of amine bisphenolate ligands were synthesized using a Mannich reaction. Reaction conditions including solvent, phenol, and amine were varied resulting in isolated yields ranging from 63.49% - 0.83%. Purified ligands were complexed with titanium isopropoxide in a 2:1 ligand to titanium ratio resulting in each titanium center bearing two amine bisphenolate ligands. The ligands and complexes were characterized using <sup>1</sup>H and <sup>13</sup>C NMR spectroscopy as well as IR spectroscopy. Isolated titanium complexes will be tested on MCF7 cells, and a MTT assay will be performed to determine cell proliferation.
