Numerical simulations of the motion of droplets striking a superhydrophobic surface have been carried out using finite element software to investigate the morphological changes and the internal velocity, pressure distribution and contact angle during the droplet impact.<br/>The process of droplet impact on the wall can be summarised as four stages: falling, spreading, contraction and rebound. The contraction process of the droplet on the wall is significantly longer than the spreading phase due to energy loss and force differences. During the contraction-bounce phase, the velocity difference between the edge of the droplet and the central region results in the formation of an inner concave air cavity at the base of the droplet. The contact angle of the surface of the rectangular structure is greater than that of the smooth surface.<br/>The simulations allow the complex interaction between the droplet and the rectangular micro-convex wall surface to be obtained, which further allows the solid-liquid interface to achieve hydrophobic interface properties.
