SSZ-13 zeolite membrane has an effective pore size of 0.38 nm × 0.38 nm and exhibits excellent CO2 selective permeability, making it an ideal membrane material for natural gas up-grading. How to achieve efficient and reproducible preparation of SSZ-13 zeolite membranes is the key to bring this type of membrane material to practical applications. To this end, this paper proposes a variable temperature synthesis method to achieve the batch preparation of SSZ-13 zeolite membranes by regulating the structure of zeolite precursors and shortening the high temperature crystallization time. CHA zeolite with an average particle size of ~220 nm was coated on the outer surface of four-channel α-Al2O3 hollow fiber carriers by the dip-coating method, followed by hydrothermal synthesis at 95 °C for 3 days and at 180 °C for 1 day. Six membrane modules, each with an effective area of 811 cm2, can be obtained in a single synthesis. At 3 MPa, the membrane module still has a separation selectivity close to 50, and can purify methane from 50% purity to 98%. The prepared SSZ-13 zeolite membrane, with excellent stability, shows good prospects for industrial applications in fields such as natural gas natural gas purification.
