Cannabinol receptors have been identified in pancreatic cancer with several studies showing in vitro antiproliferative and proapoptotic effects. The main active substances found in cannabis plants are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Even though, they have shown synergistic treatment effects in studies with the combination of CBD/synthetic cannabinoid receptor ligands and chemotherapy in xenograft and genetically modified spontaneous pancreatic cancer models, no clinical studies to date showing treatment benefits of CBD or THC in patients with pancreatic cancer because of their weaker efficacy against the pancreatic cancer cells [1-4]. THCV and HHC are rare cyclic cannabinoids with variations in the alkyl tail and double bond placement in the cyclohexyl-ring, are proposed towards the treatment of pancreatic and lung cancer, with the use of safety and in-vitro studies as evidence in observation towards the efficacy in possible treatment towards such cancers [5].
