Starting from checking emails, an analytical scientist would follow the planned schedule to proceed through a day. However, the specifics of your work do need a shift from academia to industry. Compared with several years of training in graduate school, analytical chemists who enter industry tend to work in related fields for decades. In addition to your professional skills, some soft skills will make you achieve more by doing less. I hope to explain some of the issues that we are most likely to ignore in academia, and the key points that need to be cultivated, and hope to give fresh graduates some inspiration and guidance. This presentation will be based off examples and Eastman product line to introduce the challenges and corresponding solution.
