Seed Applied Technologies, specifically seed treatment through applying insecticides, fungicides and nematicides directly to the seed, is becoming ever more popular. This is due to the immense economical and sustainable farming benefits. With this increase in popularity, novel complex formulations are being created, along with unique on-seed applications for several types of seeds. This also poses unique challenges for analysis such as sample homogeneity, numerous active ingredients, dyes and various coformulants in these complex formulations etc. This presentation will highlight the enabling of such new products and application studies through chromatographic method development, assaying active ingredients, and troubleshooting. This includes analysis of the formulated products and on-seed coating, to help ensure the most effective and efficient product is made. The case studies will be presented to elaborate the unique challenges and how different analytical tools and techniques are being utilized to solve complex problems.
