The production of hydrogen and oxygen gasses by electrochemical water-splitting is raising the demands for sustainable, environmentally friendly, and promising renewable energy resources. Alarmingly, oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction have been investigated using high cost and unsustainable electrocatalysts based on transition and Noble metals that pose a great economical challenge. Therefore, developing electrocatalysts is required to obtain the proper electrochemical properties while maintaining low-cost efficiency.<br/> <br/>This present study analyses the electrochemical properties and morphology of various conductive, organic and non-organic electrocatalysts supported on Nickel foam electrodes which have been developed to promote sustainable solution for water-splitting electrocatalyst. The investigated electrodes display a promising catalytic performance result towards the oxygen evolution reaction in a basic solution of KOH. Linear sweep voltammetry test was conducted showing a significant result for the electrochemical properties of oxygen evaluation reaction, achieving a high current density and a low offset potential with a high surface area. Hence, the results demonstrated a favourable catalyst towards oxygen evolution reaction according to the potentiodynamic protocol, producing the evenly distributed Cobalt-Oxide CoO<sub>x</sub> composites on the anodic electrode attributed to the synergistic effect of the electrodes onto the nickel foam substrate. The morphology of the surfaces and the electrochemical characterization of the prepared electrodes were performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray Power Diffraction (XRD).
