Developing chemical processes for large-scale deliveries requires balancing of multiple parameters such as robust and reproducible chemical methods, new chemical methods to enable efficient bond formation, cost efficient methods with freedom to operate, in-depth understanding of formation and rejection of impurities, etc. to name a few. This presentation will demonstrate a few examples to demonstrate the above. In the first example, a scalable method to construct C-S bond will be discussed. In the second example, a mild and homogeneous method for Cu-catalyzed amination will be discussed and in the final example, optimization of a process to make a BTK-inhibitor on kilogram scale will be described.
