In order to foster motivation and critical thinking skills in chemistry, it is increasingly important that students are given the opportunity to apply chemistry-based concepts to the real world. In particular, personalization of the chemistry topics is essential for students to fully appreciate the diverse role of chemistry in their everyday lives. As a result, the textbook model has changed dramatically in recent years as we shift from traditional text-based presentations to activity-led curricula that feature simulations, videos, and other interactives to more effectively connect with students. This presentation will describe the design of interactives for the upcoming 11th edition of "Chemistry in Context" (ACS/McGraw Hill) using Articulate Storyline 360 and CreateStudio Pro. Other software options and accessibility considerations for the resulting interactives will also be discussed.
