Traditionally consisting of in-person learning sessions held in the library or a university classroom, library instruction has undergone a shift towards new, online-based learning modalities during the past decade. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this shift and brought with it an opportunity to reexamine how we deliver instruction to our university communities. One development that came out of the pandemic was a focus on developing asynchronous, online learning modules that complemented synchronous instruction sessions. These modules are particularly useful for library workshops that focus on research data analysis and visualization tools. This presentation will focus on the development of asynchronous modules for data-focused library workshops coordinated by the STEM Libraries team at Florida State University. An overview of the process for creating and launching these modules will be presented, along with a discussion of tools, platforms, and resources that were used. Applications for these learning modules beyond library data workshops will also be discussed, along with initial observations and takeaways.
