Multimetallic C–H bond activation is an underexplored frontier in organometallic chemistry. Herein, two distinct multinuclear systems are described: the first within the context of high-valent late metal chemistry and the second focusing on early/late heterobimetallic complexes. Empirical effects relating metal count to reactivity are discussed for both nickel complexes featuring H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-derived Lewis-acid stabilized (hydro)peroxide ligands, and highly-reduced Ta/Cu complexes in which arene coordination at Ta facilitates bimetallic C–H activation.
