【Background】Since the ANDROMEDA study excluded advanced patients from the trial, the efficacy and safety of DCyBorD therapy for AL patients with advanced stages remains unclear.
【Objective】To clarify the efficacy and safety of DCyBorD therapy for systemic AL amyloidosis patients in advanced stages.
【Patients and Methods】Eight patients with systemic AL amyloidosis who were treated with DCyBorD therapy at our department were evaluated. The patients were divided into two groups: advanced group (stage 4 in Mayo stage 2012 or stage IIIb in revised cardiac stage 2013) and non-advanced group (other than those listed above). Efficacy (best hematological response) and safety (early death; death from any cause within 100 days after starting treatment) were retrospectively compared.
【Results】Four in the advanced group and four in the non-advanced group were identified. Results of hematological response were as follows, in the advanced group, 1 achieved CR, 2 achieved VGPR, and 1 was unmeasurable, and in the non-advanced group, 2 achieved CR, 1 achieved VGPR, and 1 was not evaluable. Early death was observed in 50% of the advanced group and 0% of the non-advanced group.
【Conclusion and Discussion】Although DCyBorD therapy could introduce good hematological response even in the advanced group, high mortality was observed in this group. Further studies are needed to clarify whether DCyBorD therapy can significantly improve life prognosis in the advanced group.

Treatment outcome of DCyBorD therapy on patients with advanced systemic AL amyloidosis PA139 (#66)

We invite you to attend the XIX International Symposium on Amyloidosis to be held in Rochester, MN.

This symposium is organized as a hybrid meeting (with the focus on in-person) held from Sunday, May 26 through Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Together with the ISA Board and members of Mayo Clinic, a very attractive scientific hybrid program is being planned. The program will cover a variety of types of systemic amyloidosis: ATTR (hereditary and wild-type), AL (light-chain), AA and less frequent forms. There will be key lectures, specific symposia including those company sponsored, oral presentations and poster sessions of accepted abstracts.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program will provide a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art education in systemic amyloidosis: basic science, pathophysiology, diagnosis, current and emerging treatments. Scientific presentations will include competitive oral and poster abstracts. The rapid evolution of scientific discovery and expanding treatment options has created tremendous interest in the field and this meeting will fill and important gap in educating scientists and clinicians.
