**Main Body of the Abstract**
Background:Both transthyretin amyloidosis(ATTR) and light chain amyloidosis(AL)  can lead to a considerable reduction in patients' health status, symptoms, function and quality of life. The Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire–12(KCCQ) is a validated disease-specific assessment of heart failure (HF)-related health status. We examined the association of the KCCQ with HF outcomes in patients with amyloidosis.
Methods:The initial KCCQ scores among consecutive patients with cardiac amyloidosis who completed the KCCQ as part of their routine care from 11/2015 to 09/2022 were analyzed with Cox regression to predict the composite outcome of HF hospitalization and mortality. 
Results:Study cohort included 53 patients with AL amyloidosis (mean age:63.9±10.3, 58.5% Male) with a median follow-up of 636 days, and 117 patients with ATTR amyloidosis (mean age:76.9±8.3, 91.5% Male) with a median follow-up of 670 days. The majority in both groups had heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(AL: 66.0%, ATTR: 53.9%) and mean ejection fraction of 58.2±11.7% and 51.1±12.9 %, respectively. Among the AL population, 67.9% had an event with a mean time to event of 293.4±411.0 days (Figure 1). In the ATTR cohort, 40.2% experienced an event with a mean time to event of 357.2±383.9 days (Figure 2).
Conclusions:Lower KCCQ scores in AL amyloidosis strongly correlate with poor HF outcomes, underscoring the difficulty in treating advanced disease stages. In ATTR amyloidosis, this correlation is weaker, suggesting more effective HF management with current therapies. Whether addition of hrQOL measures to validated scoring systems in amyloidosis could lead to better prognostication and aid in treatment decisions should be tested.



Health-related Quality of Life as a predictor of Heart Failure Admission and Death in Patients with Amyloidosis PC41 (#284)

We invite you to attend the XIX International Symposium on Amyloidosis to be held in Rochester, MN.

This symposium is organized as a hybrid meeting (with the focus on in-person) held from Sunday, May 26 through Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Together with the ISA Board and members of Mayo Clinic, a very attractive scientific hybrid program is being planned. The program will cover a variety of types of systemic amyloidosis: ATTR (hereditary and wild-type), AL (light-chain), AA and less frequent forms. There will be key lectures, specific symposia including those company sponsored, oral presentations and poster sessions of accepted abstracts.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program will provide a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art education in systemic amyloidosis: basic science, pathophysiology, diagnosis, current and emerging treatments. Scientific presentations will include competitive oral and poster abstracts. The rapid evolution of scientific discovery and expanding treatment options has created tremendous interest in the field and this meeting will fill and important gap in educating scientists and clinicians.
