Main Body of the Abstract
Background: Advanced Cardiac amyloidosis remains an unmet need as patients struggle to tolerate anti plasma cell directed therapy and often present with severe heart failure that complicates therapy delivery due to increase toxicity. Objective: The primary objective of this study was to describe the experience of the Amyloidosis program of Calgary on the treatment of newly diagnosed stage III AL amyloidosis (NDS3AL) as per the modified European Staging system. Material & Methods: Patients with NDS3AL were identified. Results: 70 consecutive patients with NDS3AL amyloidosis were treated with upfront Bortezomib Containing Regimens at the APC from 01/12 to 12/2023. From these, 17 patients were stage IIIB and 53 stage IIIA. Clinical characteristics are seen in Table 1. Median NTproBNP was 13149 ng/L for the stage IIIB group compared to 3469 ng/L for stage IIIA.  Hematological response was seen in 89% of stage IIIA patients compared to 58% in the stage IIIB group (p=0.03). Cardiac response was seen in 54% of the stage IIIA patients compared to only 35% on the stage IIIB group (p=0.2). At the time of analysis, 29 (54%) patients in the stage IIIA group and 12 (70%) in the stage IIIB group have progressed or died (p=0.2). In addition, median survival was shorter for the stage IIIB Group (7 months compared to 52 months for the stage IIIa group (p=0.03). Summary & Conclusion: Stage IIIB patients had a shorter overall survival and high rate of early mortality. Novel strategies are needed for the management of this group.

Clinical outcomes for patients with Stage III AL amyloidosis: Experience from the Amyloidosis Program of Calgary PA159 (#306)

We invite you to attend the XIX International Symposium on Amyloidosis to be held in Rochester, MN.

This symposium is organized as a hybrid meeting (with the focus on in-person) held from Sunday, May 26 through Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Together with the ISA Board and members of Mayo Clinic, a very attractive scientific hybrid program is being planned. The program will cover a variety of types of systemic amyloidosis: ATTR (hereditary and wild-type), AL (light-chain), AA and less frequent forms. There will be key lectures, specific symposia including those company sponsored, oral presentations and poster sessions of accepted abstracts.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program will provide a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art education in systemic amyloidosis: basic science, pathophysiology, diagnosis, current and emerging treatments. Scientific presentations will include competitive oral and poster abstracts. The rapid evolution of scientific discovery and expanding treatment options has created tremendous interest in the field and this meeting will fill and important gap in educating scientists and clinicians.
